School Night for Scouting Kickoff
Summer is off to a great start – what an exciting time for Scouting! But before we know it, schools will be starting back up and it will be time to make a big push for School Night for Scouting to recruit Cub Scouts into your packs. To help you prepare for this important campaign, we have scheduled a meeting later this summer that we would like to have two representatives from each Pack attend:
July 25, 2013 – School Night for Scouting Kickoff – 6:30pm – this meeting will focus on the things you can do to prepare to receive Scouts and their families into your Pack. Those first few interactions are critical because it is when they determine how long they will stay in the Pack and whether or not they will volunteer as leaders. We will also focus on providing you the tools and training to put on a first-rate sign-up meeting. At this time, all of the School Night supplies will be available for pickup including: School Night packets, yard signs, posters, Boy’s Life mini-magazines, buddy cards, bookmarks, applications, and more!
The meeting will take place at Lakeside Christian Church (195 Buttermilk Pike, Lakeside Park, KY). Please RSVP to Cub Recruitment Chair, Rachael Palmieri, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
I know what you’re thinking – you are extremely busy, why should you come to this meeting? Believe it or not, it will actually save you time and frustration. We are going to show and give you all the resources you need to have an incredible Fall recruitment campaign, keep more of those Scouts and their families in the Pack, and have more leaders involved in your program, making less work for you! Plus, every Pack who has at least 1 representative attend will receive 3 certificates for Free Admission to this year’s Cub-O-Ree – that is a $24 value! Please plan to attend this important meeting; we’ll certainly look forward to seeing you there!

IS YOUR UNIT SELLING THIS YEAR?? It’s never too soon to start thinking POPCORN!! Selling popcorn is an outstanding fundraiser for scouting units. Not only is it yummy, but 70% of all sales go directly back to Scouting. A Scout that sells popcorn gains awesome communication skills, builds self-esteem, and excels in leadership. Please encourage your unit to participate in selling popcorn because of the exceptional opportunity it provides to youth. This year’s Popcorn commitment form is now available and attached to this message.
