Welcome Commissioners to the Commissioner's Corner!

Trailblazer District Executive Committee Meeting

February 6, 2014

Jim Clinkenbeard, District Commissioner

We have added three new Unit Commissioners in the month of January.  Dale Elifrits will serving the two units in Southgate (3751 and 0751).  Joshua Combs will be serving the three units in Pendleton County (3109, 3806, and 0806).  Lee Gardner will be serving two units in Boone County to be named shortly based on scheduling.  We are grateful for the years Lee has faithfully served us as our Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner.  Lee has been trained as a UC and Joshua and Dale are attending the UC training on February 20th.

We are continuing to identify and recruit new UCs and ADCs.  Michael Ratterman has left us to become a Council Assistant Commissioner under new Council Commissioner Scott Snow.  We appreciate Michael’s service, but know he will continue to assist at various Trailblazer activities.

Of our approximately 38 unassigned units, eighteen units are in Boone County, six units in Kenton County, and 4 in Campbell County.  We need a concerted effort to address our shortages in Boone County and appreciate all possible leads and assistance.  I am continuing to work the several listings I have at my disposal to secure additional Commissioner staff.

I am in dialogue with ADC Dallas Mullins on assignment of LDS units and hope to have that completed soon.  Provided those changes take place we will have 4 additional unassigned units replaced by the remaining contingent of LDS units.

Adam Clinkenbeard and I completed ADC/DC training on January 22nd.  Although I had completed this training in January of 2008, the CCS Registrar did not have the entry.  Training took place at SAC under ACCs Wayne Mays and Ralph Morris.

The College of Commissioner Science will be held on Saturday, April 5th from 8:00am to 4:30pm at a location to be named.  There will be Roundtable classes for the first time since 2011.  All Commissioners will be encouraged to attend.

We have discussed the Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner position with a prospective volunteer and await his decision.
